Botswana and Zambia luxury flying safari
Delta waterways. The Boteti River. Victoria Falls. Three intimate camps and lodges connected by helicopter, regional flight and road.
Departing 6 October 2026
01 / THE JOURNEY
Wild spaces, connected beautifully
This Botswana and Zambia luxury flying safari reaches two wilderness camps before changing pace beside the Zambezi and Victoria Falls.
Begin in the Okavango Delta at Mokolwane Camp, hidden in a vast private concession with no neighbouring camp. Continue to Meno a Kwena, perched above the Boteti River on the edge of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The final two nights bring river cruises, birding and an included visit to the Zambian side of Victoria Falls from Waterberry Zambezi Lodge.
The route works because every stop feels different: wetland and predator country; riverbank and salt-pan landscapes; then the scale and energy of the Falls. It is a journey for travellers who prefer access, atmosphere and seclusion to conspicuous polish.

Nights 1–3 · Okavango Delta
Mokolwane Camp
Luxury tent · Fully inclusive
Seven raised canvas tents sit among palms, figs and jackalberry trees in the Xudum Concession. The concession is described by the camp operator as having Africa’s third-highest recorded leopard density, while elephant, buffalo, lion and wild dog also move through this remote landscape.
- Day and night game drives
- Seasonal mokoro and boating excursions
- Birding across floodplain and woodland
- Private helicopter arrival from Maun

Nights 4–6 · Makgadikgadi
Meno a Kwena
Luxury tent · Fully inclusive
Ten tents line a rocky escarpment above the Boteti River, creating a natural viewing platform over the wildlife below. The experience extends beyond game drives with water-based activities when levels permit and a respectfully hosted cultural walk with members of the Ju!hoansi community.
- Makgadikgadi Pans National Park game drives
- Boteti riverbank wildlife viewing
- San cultural experience
- Seasonal boating and floating hide

Nights 7–8 · Livingstone
Waterberry Zambezi Lodge
Lodge room · Fully inclusive
Waterberry is set on the Zambezi away from central Livingstone, close enough for an easy Victoria Falls visit yet quiet enough for a true riverside finish. Seven garden cottages create an intimate base for cruises, fishing, birding and relaxed time beside the water.
- Entry to Victoria Falls, Zambian side
- Zambezi boating and catch-and-release fishing
- Birding and self-guided nature walks
- Community and Livingstone visits available

04 / AN HONEST FIT
Is this safari right for you?
You’ll love it if…
You value small camps, rare access and watching wildlife without a convoy of vehicles. You are comfortable with light aircraft, helicopters, canvas accommodation and days shaped by nature.
Think twice if…
You prefer formal resort luxury, require guaranteed step-free access, dislike small-aircraft travel or need every activity fixed in advance. Wildlife and water levels can never be guaranteed.
05 / PLAN WITH CONFIDENCE
Before you travel
October conditions
October is hot and dry in Botswana. Wildlife often concentrates around remaining water, but travellers should be ready for high daytime temperatures.
Water activities
Mokoro, boating and floating-hide access depend on water levels and local conditions. Your hosts will confirm the best available activities during the stay.
Entry requirements
Passport, visa, health and insurance requirements can change. Check current Botswana and Zambia FCDO advice before travel.
Victoria Falls
The Zambian-side entrance is included. The KAZA UniVisa may help eligible travellers visit Zimbabwe too; confirm eligibility, availability and fees before relying on it.
06 / QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Botswana and Zambia luxury flying safari FAQs
Is this a luxury safari?+
Yes, but the luxury is defined by access, wildlife, space and attentive hosting rather than glossy formality. Mokolwane and Meno a Kwena are intimate tented camps; Waterberry is a small, relaxed riverside lodge.
How much flying is involved?+
The itinerary includes international flights, private helicopter transfers between Maun and Mokolwane Camp, and a scheduled regional flight from Maun to Livingstone. Exact flight times and baggage rules will be confirmed with your quotation.
Are water activities guaranteed?+
No. Mokoro trips, boating and the floating hide depend on seasonal water levels and local operating conditions. Game drives and other alternatives are arranged when water activities cannot run.
Can I see both sides of Victoria Falls?+
Eligible travellers may be able to use the KAZA UniVisa for travel between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Eligibility, availability, entry points and fees can change, so check current official entry guidance before travel.
Who will enjoy this itinerary most?+
It suits couples, experienced safari travellers, photographers and wildlife enthusiasts who value remoteness, small camps and varied ecosystems. It is less suitable for anyone wanting a conventional resort, a completely step-free trip or a fixed guarantee of specific wildlife sightings.
Is the holiday financially protected?+
This flight-inclusive package is stated as ATOL protected and operated by Somak Travel Ltd. Your booking confirmation and ATOL Certificate will set out the protection applying to your booking.
