Part One: The Soul of Africa – Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge

Luxury suite at Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge
3 Nights All-Inclusive in the Heart of the Wild

Your adventure begins where the rhythm of modern life fades, replaced by the ancient pulse of the African bush. You’ll fly into the heart of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, a place revered by wildlife connoisseurs for its unparalleled leopard sightings and dense concentration of the “Big Five” – lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and buffalo. Your home for the next three nights is the iconic Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge, a sanctuary of luxury that embraces its wild surroundings.

A Lodge That Breathes Africa

Bush Lodge is not just a place to stay; it’s an experience. Overlooking a waterhole and the vast plains, the lodge is a vibrant, eclectic fusion of traditional African décor and contemporary luxury. Each of the 25 spacious suites is a private haven, complete with glass-fronted bathrooms and al-fresco showers that connect you intimately with the outdoors. The philosophy here is “yesterday, today, and tomorrow,” a celebration of history, art, and nature that you’ll feel in every detail.

The Thrill of the Drive

The core of your Sabi Sabi experience is the twice-daily open vehicle game drive. As dawn breaks, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, you’ll set out with your expert ranger and Shangaan tracker. This team is the key to unlocking the secrets of the bush. Their knowledge is encyclopaedic, their tracking skills legendary.

They don’t just find animals; they interpret their behaviour, read the stories left in the dust, and bring the entire ecosystem to life. You’ll feel the thrill as a herd of elephants silently crosses your path, hear the guttural roar of a lion in the distance, and hold your breath as a leopard stalks its prey. The night drives are a different world altogether, revealing the nocturnal creatures that emerge under the vast, star-dusted African sky.

On Foot in the Wilderness

For a truly immersive encounter, the walking safaris are unmissable. Accompanied by your ranger, you’ll leave the vehicle behind and step into the wilderness. This is a chance to engage all your senses, to learn about the smaller, often-overlooked details – the medicinal uses of plants, the intricate world of insects, and the art of tracking. It’s a humbling and exhilarating experience that connects you to the earth in a profound way.

Part Two: The Vibrant Cape – Culture & Coastline
2 Nights of Discovery at The Claremont Hotel

From the untamed wilderness, you’ll fly to a city cradled between a majestic mountain and two oceans. Cape Town is a melting pot of cultures, cuisines, and landscapes, a city with a complex history and a vibrant, creative soul. Your base is The Claremont Hotel, offering elegant comfort and a perfect location to explore the city’s myriad attractions.

City Life and Natural Wonders

The iconic Table Mountain, one of the New7Wonders of Nature, provides a dramatic backdrop to your stay. A cable car ride to its summit offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the city, the coastline, and Robben Island. Down at sea level, the V&A Waterfront buzzes with energy, a hub of world-class shopping, dining, and entertainment. But Cape Town’s charm also lies in its quieter corners – the colourful houses of Bo-Kaap, the tranquil Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, and the chic boutiques of Kloof Street.

Included: A Sunset Toast to the Atlantic

We’ve included a special experience to capture the magic of the Cape. As the day draws to a close, you will board a luxury catamaran for a sunset champagne cruise. As you sail out from the waterfront, you’ll gain a unique perspective of the city against the backdrop of the Twelve Apostles mountain range. Watch as the sun dips below the horizon, setting the sky ablaze with colour, all while sipping a glass of fine South African sparkling wine. It’s a moment of pure bliss and a perfect photo opportunity.

A Taste of the Cape

Cape Town is a food lover’s paradise. From world-renowned fine dining restaurants in the Winelands to quirky food markets like the Oranjezicht City Farm Market, there’s something to tantalise every palate. Explore the nearby Constantia Valley, the oldest wine-producing region in South Africa, for an afternoon of wine tasting, or simply enjoy the fresh, local seafood at one of the many harbour-side eateries. This is a city that invites you to indulge.

Part Three: The Pinnacle of Luxury – Raffles The Palm, Dubai
The opulent interior of Raffles The Palm, Dubai
3 Nights of Palatial Indulgence on a Half-Board Basis

Your journey culminates in a city that redefines possibility. Dubai is a dazzling metropolis of futuristic skyscrapers, man-made islands, and unparalleled luxury. Your final destination, Raffles The Palm, is not merely a hotel; it’s a palace. Located on the prestigious West Crescent of the Palm Jumeirah, this resort is an ode to refined living and profound pleasure.

A Palace by the Sea

From the moment you step into the grand lobby, with its soaring ceilings and glittering chandeliers, you are transported to a world of European-inspired grandeur. The resort boasts a pristine 500-metre private beach, offering stunning views of the Arabian Gulf and the Dubai skyline. Every aspect of your stay is curated for comfort and delight, starting with the legendary Raffles Butler Service, ensuring your every need is anticipated and met with gracious efficiency.

Wellness and Relaxation Redefined

The award-winning Cinq Mondes Spa is a destination in itself. Spanning an impressive 3,000 square metres, it is one of the largest spas in the Middle East. Here, you can embark on a holistic wellness journey with treatments inspired by ancient healing traditions from around the world. Swim in the magnificent indoor pool, a serene and cavernous space that invites quiet contemplation, or simply relax by one of the temperature-controlled outdoor pools, set within lush, landscaped gardens.

A Culinary Finale

With your half-board basis, you can explore a world of culinary excellence. Raffles The Palm features a selection of exceptional restaurants and bars, each offering a unique ambiance and menu. From contemporary Japanese to authentic Italian, every meal is an event. This is the perfect, indulgent end to a holiday that has stimulated every one of your senses, allowing you to relax, reflect, and savour the final moments of your extraordinary adventure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does ABTA & ATOL protection mean for me?

This is the most important question for any traveller. ATOL (Air Travel Organiser’s Licence) protection covers package holidays that include flights. It means that if the travel company you booked with ceases trading, you won’t lose your money or be stranded abroad. ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) provides protection for non-flight-based holidays and offers a code of conduct that ensures high service standards. Booking with us means you have comprehensive financial protection and recourse, giving you complete peace of mind. Is this itinerary customisable?

Absolutely. We consider this itinerary a masterpiece, but it’s just the starting point. As your Travel Artists, we excel at tailoring journeys. Whether you want to extend your safari, upgrade your room to a plunge pool suite, add a few days in the Cape Winelands, or change your Dubai hotel, we can adjust almost any element to suit your tastes, budget, and timeline. Just ask! What is the best time of year to do this trip?
+

The advertised travel period of March is excellent. In Sabi Sabi, the bush is lush, and it’s a great time for birding, though game viewing is superb year-round. Cape Town will have beautiful, warm, and dry late-summer weather, perfect for sightseeing. Dubai is also pleasant, having passed its peak winter season but not yet into the intense summer heat. We can, of course, price this holiday for any time of year, advising you on the climatic conditions for each location. What kind of clothing should I pack?

2e0ff3ba0ad436e0528980dd4a4f493b 1 Louise and Scott at Hays Travel

This trip requires a varied wardrobe.

For the Safari (Sabi Sabi): Neutral-coloured (khaki, beige, green) lightweight clothing is essential. Pack long trousers and long-sleeved shirts for evenings and early mornings to protect against mosquitoes. A warm fleece or jacket is crucial as morning game drives can be very cold before the sun rises. Comfortable walking shoes are a must.

For Cape Town: Think “layers.” Pack summer clothes, swimwear, and comfortable shoes for walking. Also include a light jacket or cardigan for cooler evenings or windy days, especially for the sunset cruise and Table Mountain.

For Dubai: Lightweight and modest clothing is best. While it’s a modern city, it’s respectful to cover shoulders and knees when in public places like malls. For Raffles The Palm, you may want “smart casual” attire for evening dining. Don’t forget swimwear and a sun hat! Are visas and vaccinations required?
+

For British passport holders, visas are not typically required for short tourist stays in South Africa or the UAE (Dubai). However, passport and visa regulations can change. Your passport must have at least 6 months’ validity remaining. Regarding vaccinations and health precautions (like malaria prophylaxis for the safari area), it is imperative that you consult your GP or a travel clinic at least 8 weeks before departure for the most current and personalised advice. We can guide you on this, but we are not medical professionals. What does ‘all-inclusive’ at Sabi Sabi cover?
+

At Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge, ‘all-inclusive’ is comprehensive. It typically includes your luxury suite accommodation, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), selected local and house beverages (soft drinks, water, beer, wine, and spirits), your twice-daily game drives, and the walking safaris. It generally excludes premium branded spirits, cellar wines, champagne, spa treatments, and boutique purchases. How much spending money will I need?
+

This depends on your personal spending habits. In Sabi Sabi, most of your costs are covered. You’ll only need money for optional extras and gratuities for your ranger and lodge staff (which is customary). In Cape Town, you’ll need to budget for lunches, dinners, entrance fees to attractions not included, and shopping. In Dubai, your breakfast and one other meal are covered on a half-board basis, so you’ll need funds for lunch, drinks, and any activities or shopping you wish to do.

The Journey of a Lifetime Awaits

This is more than a holiday; it’s a collection of moments that will stay with you forever. The roar of a lion under a canopy of stars, the taste of champagne as the sun sets over the Atlantic, the feeling of pure indulgence in a desert palace. We’ve taken care of every detail, so all you have to do is live it.
